Chiang Mai Night Safari
Chiang Mai Night Safari is located in the area of Doi Suthep – Pui National Park, which is in Tambon Mae Hia and Tambon Suthep in Amphoe Mueng and Tambon Nong Kwai in Amphoe Hang Dong, Chiang Mai Province. The zoo is under the responsibility of the Designated Areas for Sustainable Tourism Administration. Coming from Chiang Mai city, Chiang Mai Night Safari can be reached from Huay Keaw Road. Just turn left into Highway 121 and drive towards Amphoe Hang Dong for about 10 km. Then turn right and drive for 2 km to arrive at the zoo.
Chiang Mai Night Safari consists of the zoo zone and the resort zone. Taking up most of the areas in this nature theme park, the zoo zone is separated into three minor zones.
First, Jaguar Trail is a 1.2 km walking trail around Swan Lake where visitors can stroll along the path. This zone has over 400 animals of 50 species including white tigers, jaguars, capybaras, clouded leopards, Brazilian tapirs, ponies, pygmy hippopotamuses, orang-utans, black tigers, etc.
Second, Predator Prowl is the zone of carnivorous animals. This zone is home to about 200 ferocious predators such as white tigers, Indo-China tigers, Bengal tigers, lions, wolves and Tibetan black bears. Tourists will take a 2.13 km ride in a 60-seat tram to visit the Predator Prowl Zone.
The third zone is Savanna Safari, which exhibits about 320 wild ungulates and herbivores whose habitat is in savannas; for example, serows, bulls, white rhinoseroses,  hyenas and cheetahs, etc. Along the way, tourists will be able to observe the replica of Wiang Kun Kam architectural style where the history of Chiang Mai City is told. The pavilions in the service area of Chiang Mai Nigh Safari are designed in the Lanna-African village style. Here, tourists can find restaurants, stores, souvenir shops, a shuttle bus station which provides service from and to the zoo zone, and, over more, the Fun Plaza where musical fountain can be enjoyed.
