The Nam Nao National Park is an immense tract of forest which has remained mostly untouched. Its pine forests, grasslands and virgin jungles are home to a large number of animals and more than 100 species of birds. Between December and January, temperatures drop to as low as 2-5 degrees Celsius.

Caves and waterfalls are the park’s main attractions; however, they are spread out. For instance, ThamPha Hong is 300 meters off the main road at Km.39 to the north, and is a beautiful sunset viewpoint filled with stalactites and stalagmites. PhuKumKhaoPinery is 15 kilometers off the main road at Km.53, where pine trees grow dense and lush. The NamtokHeoSai and NamtokSai Thong waterfalls are 1 kilometer and 1.5 kilometers respectively off the main road at Km. 67.

The park headquarters is about 50 kilometers to the west of AmphoeLomSak on Highway No. 12, in Tambon Wang Khwang, Amphoe Nam Nao.
