Thanto Waterfall is located in the Banglang National Park of Yala province. It is around 56 kilometers away from the Yala city. Take the 410 highway to Yala-Betong to the waterfall around 1 kilometer.

Originally, the Royal Forest Department declared this waterfall as a Waterfall Park since 1960. Since the geography of Yala province is mostly alternating mountains with tropical rain forest, it is the origin of many rivers such as Pattanee River. The weather here is divided into 2 seasons which are rainy season which starts from June to December and summer which starts from January to May.

Thanto Waterfall consists of 9 levels with around 20 meters height in each level. In each level, there are walking paths to walk along with the name as follow: 1st level is named Than Sam Sai
2nd level is named Than Soh Hin
3rd level is named Than Matcha
4th level is named Than Krazen
5th level is named Than Sanaeha
6th level is named Than Dalha
7th level is named Than Hin Tang
8th level is named Than Prueksa
9th level is named Than To

The 3rd to 5th level have Salas for the tourists to relax. On the 9th level, the water flows from the height at 30 meters. The 1st and the 9th level are around 500 meters away from each other. Along the way up, there is forest which is suitable for bird watching such as Black and Yellow Broadbill, Chestnust-breasted Malkoha, Temmink’s Sunbird etc.
