Bangpu Recreation Center or Bangpu is a famous seaside tourist attraction of Thailand in the Gulf of Thailand located on Sukhumvit Road at km 37, Bangpu Mai sub-district, Mueang district, SamutPrakan province on an area of 639 rai.

Bangpu Recreation Center was built in 1937 under the concept of Field MarshalPlaekPhibunsongkhram, Prime Minister at the time. Later, a bridge named “Suk Ta Bridge”, which became a symbol of Bangpuwas constructed. Afterwards, a building called “Sala Suk Chai” was built at the end of the bridge.

The center covering an area of 639 rai has fertile nature with forest and bird watching trails. There are more than 200 species of birds, which tourists can watch all year round. Bangpu is therefore a well-known bird watching site of Thailand, especially ten thousands of brown-headed gulls evacuating from winter at the beginning of winter from around October to November annually.

Walking down the road, you will reach Suk Ta Bridge stretching into the sea about 500 m. This is a very suitable viewpoint for watching birds and the sunset.

At the end of the bridge, Sala Suk Chai is provided with a food shop, where tourists appreciate fresh seafood, eg, steamed crabs, fried sea bass, etc. In addition, a dancing yard is provided for senior people to dance on Saturdays from 4 pm onwards.

Travel to the center: From SamutPrakan Junction, turn left along Sukhumvit Road (old) to km 37, make a U-turn and you will see Bangpu on the left hand side. You can also take the mini bus no. 36 to Pak Nam market or a pick-up truck (Pak Nam-WatTamru, Pak Nam-Bangpu Industrial Estate and Pak Nam-Khlong Dan).
