Phuttha Utthayan Resevoir is an important reservoir for agriculture and fishing and is a place for relaxation with comfortably cool wind. Along the reservoir is where a number of resorts are located.
Phuttha Utthayan Resevoir can be regarded as Amnat Charoen Province’s important tourist attraction. This reservoir is situated in the administrative district of Ban Phuttha Mongkhon, Bung Sub-district, Mueang District, Amnat Charoen Province. The construction of Phuttha Utthayan Resevoir by the Royal Irrigation Department took 6 years, starting in 1957 and finishing in 1963.
Phuttha Utthayan Resevoir is also called Huai Pla Daek Reservoir. It is a tourist attraction which is only 3 kilometers northwards of the city center of Amnat Charoen Province. This Royal Irrigation Department’s large reservoir can contain water up to 21.94 cubic meters. The edge of the reservoir is 1,300 meters long and is 6 meters wide at the front, revealing extremely breath-taking scenery around. This is such a perfect place for relaxation.
Apart from a water resource for the villagers’ agriculture and farming in the area of more than 14,214 Rai during rainy season and more than 4,000 Rai during drying season, Phuttha Utthayan Resevoir is also a water resource for the villagers’ consumption in Mueang District. The Amnat Charoen Provincial had the landscape around Phuttha Utthayan Resevoir adjusted and made shadier so that the reservoir can be developed into Amnat Charoen’s tourist attraction.

Phuttha Utthayan Resevoir is located in the upper part of the village number 2 in Ban Charoen Samakkhi, Bung Sub-district, Mueang District, Amnat Charoen Province. It is 6 kilometers from the city center of Amnat Charoen along Chayangkul Road heading to Ban Charoen Samakkhi.
