The first natural history museum in Thailand, the Museum of Anthropology was built in 1961. It is located behind the old city hall and features exhibits on the evolution of plants, animals, humans, and the history of the earth. Artifacts include Buddha images as well as antique porcelain.
To get there, take non air-conditioned buses No. 63, 97, and 203 or air-conditioned buses No. 9 and 126. Dial 1584 to contact the hotline for more information on buses. Boat passengers can disembark at Nonthaburi Pier.
The museum is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 8.30 am-4.30 pm. It is closed on public holidays. Admission is free.
