Bueng Si Fai is a large freshwater swamp in Thailand, which is located in Phichit Province. It is the fifth largest water resource in the country after Bueng Boraphet, Nong Han Lake, Bueng Lahan, and Phayao Lake, respectively. After the construction of Sirikit Dam, the area of Bueng Si Fai is reduced to 5,390 Rai. It is a freshwater fish breeding facility, a habitat of various types of birds, and an important place for relaxing in Phichit Province. It is the first mark of the province. Located in Nai Mueang Sub-district, Mueang District, which is only 1 kilometer westwards from Phichit city hall, this swamp is neighbored with 4 sub-districts in Phichit’s Mueang District; Tha Luang Sub-district, Rong Chang Sub-district, Khlong Kha Chen Sub-district, and Mueang Kao Sub-district. The average depth of the swamp is around 1.5-2 meters. Inside the area of Bueng Si Fai, there are a lot of interesting attractions listed below.

Somdet Phra Srinagarindra Park, Phichit—It was established to glorify Somdet Phra Srinagarindra Boromarajajonani in her 80th birthday anniversary in 1984. It is a park where people can relax on the bank of Bueng Si Fai. There is a long bridge leading to the big pavilion provided for relaxation. The tourists usually feed the fish and watch the sunset here.

The statue of Phraya Chalawan—According to the legend of Krai Thong, there was a large crocodile, called Phraya Chalawan. It madly attacked and ate people but, at last, it was tamed by Krai Thong. Situated at the front of Bueng Si Fai, the statue is built into a small building with a meeting room containing 25-30 seats inside the crocodile statue.

Chaloem Phrakiat Aquarium, usually called Nine-sided Pavilion—It is a building in the shape of nine-sided star projecting into Bueng Si Fai. In this place, there is an aquarium containing more than 20 species of fish, taking turn to be displayed. Besides, there is a channel in the middle of the pavilion for seeing various species of fish in Bueng Si Fai which are waiting for the tourists to feed them.

The four pavilions in Bueng Si Fai—Tourists usually feed fish at these pavilions, especially at the big one. Besides, they are used as voting booths in Phichit Province.

Crocodile Pond—There are two crocodile ponds in Bueng Si Fai—the old one and the new one. At present, the old one, or the smaller one, is out of order, because of the substitution of the new one in Bueng Si Fai, which is much bigger.

The attractions also include the painting of Phraya Chalawan and the painting of the waterfall, which are artworks on the ground so that the tourists can take pictures in 3D, as if they are in the actual places.
