Dr. Thawee Buranakhate who is Phitsanulok's pioneer in sculpture and indigenous arts preservation. He is best known for his knowledge on Northern Thai folkelore, along with his Buddha Casting Foundry across the museum. The museum allows an insight into the Thai traditional lifestyle. A group of Thai pavilions contains an exhibition of a private collection of antique items and artifacts that portrays the rural way of life. The exhibit includes indigenous arts, pottery, household items, and farming and trapping equipments with pictures of Phitsanulok’s recent past on display. TheFolkloreMuseumreceived the Excellence in Tourism Award in 1998.
Getting there: The museum is located on Wisutkasat road or commonly known as Sanam Bin road approximately 5 kilometers from the town center.
Admission: 100 baht
Opening hours: The folklore museum is opened every day from 08.30-16.30 hrs except except Mondays.
