Ban Krut beach is located in Ban Krut area, Thongchai sub-district, Bang Saphan district, Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. It is vast and very beautiful beach. Its 12-kilometer coast is alongside the beach road. Ban Krut beach is famous for being one of the most beautiful beaches in Thailand. In the past, there are a lot of Kaffer lime trees (Ma-krut tree) in Ban Krut. This leads to its name “Ban Krut.”

There are 2 beaches in Ban Krut beach; the north Ban Krut beach and the south Ban Krut beach, with Thongchai Mountain separating them. The north Ban Krut beach is northward of Thongchai Mountain. It is a private beach with no road separating as the road is in the front and the sea is at the back. On the other hand, the south Ban Krut beach is alongside the sea since there are small roads separating. A number of resorts; therefore, are built along the beach to provide services to the tourists. Apart from its white sand beach, its blue sea, its green lines of the coconut trees, and its colorful view, Ban Krut is also a place where a lot of fishermen live scattering along the beach. The fishermen’s traditional lifestyle can be seen here; for example, coast fishing, dried seafood processing, and jellyfish fishery for export. 700 meters from Ban Krut stands Thongchai Mountain where Phra Mahathat Chedi Phakdeeprakat Stupa and Phra Phut Kitisirichai (Buddha Kitisitichai) are housed. Thongchai Mountain itself is a famous viewpoint in Ban Krut because the bend of the crescent-like Ban Krut gulf and the contrast between the green coconut trees and the blue sea and sky can be seen from there. Furthermore, on the top of Thongchai Mountain is also a popular place for the tourists to watch the sunrise and sunset.
