Udonthani Museum is located on Po Sri Road, Tambol Mhak Kaeng, Amphur Muang, Udonthani inside the Rachinutid Building. The museum is a 2 level building built in the western style during the reign of King Rama VI. This museum is initiated by Mr. Chaiyaporn Rattananaka, the former provincial governor of Udonthani. He gathered the unity of the people in Udonthani to participate in the foundation of this museum. It took only 111 days to build. This museum was opened on 18th January 2004, which is the 111th anniversary of Udonthani province.

The visitors who have a chance to visit this museum will be able to know more about Udonthani province. It is divided into 2 levels, 6 rooms each. The first floor consists of; The information and service room is the room to introduce about the museum; The natural science and geology room which is the room to give information about the soil, water and forest of Udonthani province; The history room gives information about Udonthani’s history; The anthropology room gives information about the way of living of the Udonthani people from the ancient time up until now; The history and city development room is the room that gives information about the city ruler; The contemporary art room gives the information about the arts in Udonthani such as cloth weaving and performing arts. The second level consists of; The city founder’s room which gives all the information of him; The Thongyai Room shows the picture of the “Thongyai” family; The King and the Queen’s portrait room and also the royal family who used to proceed here; The teacher and monks of Udonthani room is the room that shows the biography of the important teachers and monks in this province; The Baan Chiang cultural room displays the picture of the human during the Baan Chiang and Phu Phra Bat era.
