Once a headland between the Chao Phraya River and Sakae Krang River, Ko Thepho is now a river island. A canal had been excavated to link both rivers in further north so that water from the Chao Phraya River will boost water levels in the Sakae Krang River when rain is sparse.

Ko Thepho is an adventurous site for travellers who love cycling. The journey on the isle starts after you cross a bridge that links the municipal fresh market and Wat Ubosatharam. The bridge is not long, though it is quite narrow as it is only wide enough for two motorcycles. Along both sides of the road there is a bamboo forest, corn and rice fields, peaceful and cool with shade. Local people here earn a living by planting fruits such as Manorom and Khao Taeng Kwa pomelo, and Mafai.

Tourists may contact Khun Somprasong Simueang to request a map of Ko Thepho and the city of Uthai Thani. Wise visitors will also check out the Uthai Thani Cycling for Health Club (Charoeun Chakayan Shop) 101-102 Tha Chang Road, Amphoe Mueang, Tel. 0 5651 1991.

Ko Thepho is open every day from 6.00 am-7.00 pm.
